đź“– Why is real connection is better than online?
1) The Social Brain
- Humans are wired for tribe. For most of history, survival = connection.
- Oxytocin + dopamine: Talking, laughing, touch → releases bonding hormones + reward.
- These hits are slower, but they linger. They stabilize mood, reduce stress, and reinforce trust.
2) Why Phones Break It
- Social media offers synthetic signals of belonging: likes, follows, comments.
- These cues give dopamine spikes without oxytocin.
- The brain registers “social contact” without the chemistry of real bonding → leaving you hungry and lonely.
3) Why We’re Doing This
- You’ve cut cheap dopamine, built joy + focus. But without real human contact, the system is incomplete.
- Social dopamine = the most sustainable, grounding fuel.
